So, my summer residency dream did not come to fruition. But I realized, hey, I can make my own change of scene. So I set up a temporary summer studio upstairs, on our enclosed sleeping porch. I still have to make my own breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but at least I only have to share a shower with one other person and two small parrots. Not a bad trade off.
